Bangkok hosts 14th Annual International Festival of Language and Culture

Students from 20 different countries are joining the 14th Annual International Festival of Language and Culture Thailand Gala on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Main Hall Thailand Cultural Centre in Bangkok. By celebrating and showcasing the diversity of linguistic talents among students across the world through music and art, the festival is dedicated in promoting peace, love, and cultural encounters through the world. The festival also aims to unite different nations with universal human values.

The ceremony is dedicated to cultivate and educate the youth and create a platform to share their cultural heritage with their peers around the world, said in a press release. At least 3,000 students are expected to participate in the event which will start at 3:00 – 5:30 pm. Registration will be at 2:00 pm.

Aside from Thailand, other student participants will be coming from the USA, France, Azerbaijan, India, Vietnam, Egypt, Georgia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Indonesia, the Philippines, Tunisia, Mozambique, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Laos, Myanmar and Senegal. The students will be showcasing their singing and dancing talents in their native language and culture at this first class international festival of language and culture.

The International Festival of Language and Culture first started in 2003 and proceeded with only 17 countries participating. Last year, 145 countries took part in this event held in different parts around the world.

Hosted by Marmara Schools, the event is also supported by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture,Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thailand Achievement Institution (TAI), Kaynak Education Consultancy, and Thai Turkish Business Association.

At least 150 countries will take part across the globe in various ceremonies for this year festival.

Description of Event: The festival is an annual celebration and showcase for the diversity of linguistic talents from across the world. The parent organization International Festival of Language and Culture is the largest and most prominent organization for promoting world languages and cultures. History of IFLC :The International Festival of Language and Culture first started in 2003 and proceeded with only 17 countries participating. Whereas last year, 145 countries took part in this event with more than 2000 participants.

In Thailand: The first festival in Thailand took place last year on 15th February,2015 Sunday. The venue was Muangthai Rachadalai Theatre which is located at the heart of Bangkok City. Students from 15 different countries including USA, France, Germany, Senegal, Albania, Indonesia have participated in this magnificent event and performed songs from their home countries. More than 2,000 people have filled up the hall to watch the show.

Last year program’s Chief Guest ML Panadda Diskul, The Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office – Thailand mentioned in his speech:”This evening young people from all over the world from so many countries will have a unique opportunity to come together and to share their own cultures histories this will be and most enjoyable experience not only because have a chances to learn each other but new experience this also because you have opportunity to build friendship that can last life time long. The IFLC has a vision of world peace that will always remain important because it focuses on friendship, our youth and their future.
