Four locals nabbed for issuing falsified documents

Employment season is fast approaching but Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lt General Sanit Mahathavorn sternly reminds job applicants against the usage of falsified educational degrees for application; that both the manufacturer and customer will face the same penalty of a fine, jail time or even both, April 9, 2017.

Four suspects have been arrested, 2 were from the province of Surin as Kittiwat Chanwimonwat and Jutawadee Sirisuksawat were arrested for having fake college degrees and other related equipment for forgery and 2 from Ubon Ratchathani, Weerapon Kamsaeng and Lalida Kaewboonruang were found with forgery tools.

Their business was tracked down through social media site Facebook where they had posted their services to interested customers. According to Lalida’s confession, each document for Mathayom 3 and higher costs 3,500 THB and 9,800 THB for bachelor’s degrees from top universities.

The Nation reports that Kittiwat has been in business for more than 2 years now and has been getting around 10-20 customers a month. All 4 suspects have been formally charged for counterfeiting official documents and are sent to Don Muang Police Station in Bangkok for further investigation.
