Mullika Foundation, an equal rights campaigner called on the government on Saturday, Mary 11 to scrap school uniforms in government-run schools across the country.

According to the group’s President, Mrs Mullika Boonmetrkoon-mahasook, every year parents would acquire loans from pawnshops to buy school uniforms for their children, burdening especially poor families.

She emphasized that it is the right time to put an end to this policy and instead focus should be directed to educating the children.
