Thailand’s interim cabinet announced January 2-3, 2017 public holidays in addition to December 31, 2016 to January 1 New Year holidays, posted Khaosod English website.
Quoting government spokeswoman Col. Taksada Sangkachan, the news report said January 2 and 3, Monday and Tuesday, were added as public holidays to follow on December 31 and January 1.
The cabinet also announced that National Day, celebrated Dec. 5 on the birthday of His Late Majesty King Bhumibol, will remain a public holiday but be renamed to commemorate his birthday, the report added.
