Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson and Secretary of National Irrigation Administration Peter Lavina are among the guests of honor at the 75th commencement exercises of Philippine Christian University on July 29, 2018 at Amari Watergate Hotel, Bangkok.
Atty. Perfecto Yasay, PCU’s chairman of the Board of Trustees is also attending the graduation rites. Yasay is the former Foreign Affairs secretary. He also graced the occasion last year as the commencement speaker.
The three officials are joining the 350 students who have finally completed their undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Aside from overseas Filipino workers (OFW) and expat graduates, those who are joining the graduation rites are Philippine mayors, councilors and government employees who are enrolled at the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Legislative Academy. Singson now serves as the president of the Councilors League of the Philippines.
The successful completion of their programs of study is made possible with PCU’s partnership with St Robert’s Group of Companies which offers transnational education in Thailand. This is the third year PCU will hold its graduation ceremony in Bangkok. Dr Robert Galindez, CEO of St Robert’s Group of Companies is also the Dean of PCU Transnational Education.
