Below is the official press release on the 13 types of business in Bangkok allowed to reopen from the Thai Public Relations Department.
Thirteen Types of Business in Bangkok Are Allowed to Reopen
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has allowed 13 types of business to reopen from Friday, 22 January 2021, onwards after having faced closure temporarily to mitigate the spread of the new wave of COVID-19 infections.
The decision was made on 21 January 2021 after a meeting the BMA Communicable Disease Committee, which considered a relaxation of restrictions imposed in early January 2021 to contain local COVID-19 transmission.
Since the number of new cases of COVID-19 in Bangkok has dropped to a certain level, BMA decided to allow the reopening of certain businesses. It also thanked all parties involved for their cooperation in complying with BMA measures against the disease.
The 13 businesses that are permitted to reopen include 1) gaming centers, 2) game and internet shops, 3) elderly care centers, 4) competitive-sports fields, except boxing stadiums and horse racing tracks, 5) banquet halls and similar places, 6) amulet markets and centers, 7) beauty salons and tattoo and piercing parlors, 8) fitness centers, 9) health and wellness establishments and spas, traditional Thai massage, and foot massage shops (but not massage parlors), 10) boxing gyms, 11) bowling, skate, and rollerblade venues or other similar services, 12) dance academies, and 13) martial arts schools.
