The death toll along the Rama 2 expressway bridge construction has risen to 6, with 26 individuals injured.
In a The Nation report, an area along the Rama 3-Dao Khanong Expressway Project collapsed early Sunday morning, March 15. The incident has caused road closures and extensive damage killing 5 on the spot with 26 individuals injured.
The collapsed structure fell onto the first-level expressway, connecting to Bang Mot, Bang Khun Thian and Chom Thong areas. The debris from the incident has forced traffic authorities to close the whole area to traffic.
According to the same report, the bridge, which is under the Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway, had its beam and floor collapse after cement was poured for the floor.
Rescue efforts were still on-going to check for missing workers. However, workers say rescue and clearing efforts are a challenge as wet cement and debris are mixed.
