PE Myanmar announces earthquake assistance programs

The Philippine Embassy in Myanmar (Yangon) has announced assistance for Filipinos in Myanmar, after the deadly 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit the second most populated city Mandalay. Current death toll is now at 3,354 individuals.

The Embassy is now accepting requests for Filipinos who wished to be repatriated on April 12. Since commercial flights are still full, the Philippine government is coordinating to use a C130 aircraft who wish to be repatriated. Interested individuals should contact the embassy if they wish to do so.

Repatriated individuals will still be allowed to return if requirements are met, such as a valid working visa and their overseas employment certificate (OEC).

Transportation assistance are going to be available to Yangon. Interested individuals must email yangonpe.consular@dfa,gov.ph to avail.

Temporary Accomodation is also available for 14 days, extendable based on prevailing circumstances.

Financial Assistance is also available for qualified OFWs in distress, and trauma counseling is also available through +959985210998.
