Flying to the Land of Smiles may now get cheaper as competition between budget airlines gets more stiff. AirAsia Philippines has just announced its plan to launch a Manila-Bangkok route in the second quarter of 2018, a move seen as an apparent expansion by the Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia Berhad.
In an Inquirer report dated February 27, aside from the Manila-Bangkok route, additional Manila/Cebu-Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu and Cebu-Singapore flights are also eyed in the second quarter of 2018, as mentioned in an official statement released by the airline.
AirAsia PH has already launched its Manila-Jakarta flight last January 9 and a Manila-Bali route last January 19. Also late November 2017, AirAsia had started Manila-Ho Chi Minh route.
“Bali is AirAsia Philippines’ newest international destination from Manila with flights departing daily from NAIA Terminal 3,” the airline said.
