Her Excellency Ambassador Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon attended the reception ceremony to celebrate the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Community at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok on Tuesday, December 22, 2015.
The ASEAN Community will be officially established on December 31, 2015 with the three main pillars namely the ASEAN Political-Security Community, the ASEAN Economic Community, and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community with the vision of creating a community which has competitive advantage, clear rules and regulations, inclusive participation, and people-centered development, said MFA in a press release.
The reception, which was presided by Thailand Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Don Pramudwinai, was attended by approximately 300 guests, comprising of the diplomatic corps, representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as members of the media, the statement added.
