Her Excellency Ambassador Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon attended the Asia Pacific Commemoration of International Women’s Day in Bangkok on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”. It was organized by the Asia-Pacific UN RCM Thematic Working Group on Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women (TWG-GEEW), co-chaired by ESCAP and UN Women.
The regional event brought together different stakeholders to discuss key challenges, gaps and opportunities to advance gender equality towards achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
