Bayanihan sa Thailand food drive reaches 228,521 baht in one month

The Bayanihan sa Thailand has raised 228,521 in one month. The food drive kicked off on April 1 and has already distributed 575 food packs for the whole month. At least 300 food packs will be distributed on May 2.

Each food pack costs 300 THB with five kgs of rice, 10 noodles, 10 eggs, 3 sardines, 1 cooking oil and mung bean. There were also coffee and pandesal added during the second distribution.

Aside from cash donations, the group also received around 50,000 baht goods donation (1,850 kgs of rice and food items). More or less 50 volunteers have also braved the streets of Bangkok and other provinces to distribute food packs.

This bayanihan is initiated by 2020 Secretariat of Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (ALSE-OF-LIFE) who are composed of mostly inspiring and vibrant young Filipino professionals and long-time Filipino residents in Thailand, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bangkok and community news website PinoyThaiyo.
