‘Bayanihan Sa Thailand’ to reach out OFWs in provinces this weekend

After two consecutive weekends of distributing food packs in Bangkok and neighboring provinces, the team from Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (ALSE) Program in Thailand will focus on providing assistance to Filipinos in far-flung provinces.

The survey result in early March attracted respondents from 42 provinces. All of them were contacted by the team and those who have not received any help from any organization yet would be receiving 300 baht each. Those who sent messages to Ateneo LSE Thailand and PinoyThaiyo Facebook pages requesting assistance were also contacted.

Around 500 food packs have already been distributed by ALSE Team (also known as ALSE-OF-LIFE). Cash was also given to Filipino organizations in two provinces in the south (Koh Samui and Phuket).

Third Wave of Bayanihan will be next weekend, May 2-3.

Food packs distribution. First and second waves distributed in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Rayong and some areas in Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Nakhon Pathom.

The team also received rice and goods donations such as 1,000 kgs of rice from Thailand-Philippines Business Council, 750 kgs of rice from S6 Company Limited and its buyers, and 100 kgs of rice from BeautyWhite Skin Care Thailand. Meanwhile several groups and individuals like Lola’s Kitchen and pinoy employees in Agoda also donated goods and food packs.

We also account to around 50 volunteers all throughout this bayanihan.

Bayanihan sa Thailand is an initiative of Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (ALSE-OF-LIFE) Thailand 2020 Secretariat, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Thailand and PinoyThaiyo.

Thank you very much to all donors and volunteers.
