The Department of Trade and Industry, together with the Philippine Commission on Women, Department of Foreign Affairs, and Women’s Business Council of the Philippines in coordination with the ASEAN National Organizing Council will host a technology and innovation forum for the ASEAN from March 16-17, 2017 in Manila with the theme “STEAM Ahead in ASEAN: A Forum of Women and Technology”.
The goal of the forum is to allow women-empowerment in ASEAN by engaging in technology and innovation-led enterprises. The country identified inclusive and innovation-lead growth as one of its thematic priorities for hosting the ASEAN Summit 2017. Part of the forum is a discussion on how to engage in micro, small and medium enterprises in the region through new technology and innovation in the digital economy.
