A total of 183 Filipinos from Phuket, Thailand including three infants were repatriated on Monday, June 29.
The repatriation was led by Philippine Embassy officials who traveled by land from Bangkok to Phuket to meet Filipino repatriates. Consul General Val Roque and Assistance to National officer Karlo Berme headed the team.
The said Philippine Government repatriation flight which was funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs included two cremated remains of OFWs. Many of the Filipino repatriates used to work in hotels, resorts and restaurants in the Kingdom’s southern tourism center that has been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The repatriation brings to 734 the total number of repatriates from Thailand since the Embassy’s first repatriation flight in April 2020.

Meanwhile, a Second Special Chartered is being arranged by Bangkok Vista Holiday Co., Ltd. and PinoyThaiyo with the support of the Philippine Embassy.
