Located on the outskirts of Bangkok in Samut Prakan, Ancient City Siam offers an intoxicating cornucopia of visual delights for its visitors of all ages, local or foreign. Though I’ve been to this exotic location for 3 times already, it always seems like the first time, with each visit more enlightening than the first. Now with my wife and child, I relish this place better with more discerning eyes–capturing, breathing in and living in the moment–with all its serene surrounding abundant with cultural embellishments. I appreciate Thailand more now with my family as much as I did.
If you think you can’t tour the entire country enough, try exploring Ancient city Siam as it features vivid replicas of Thailand’s most popular attractions from its ornate palaces and temples, sacred Buddha images and shrines to floating markets.
I believe once you set foot on this lovely place, it’s as if you’ve had a complete journey of glorious country all in one day.
Just about 40 minutes away from Suvarnabhumi Airport, this fascinating sojourn to Ancient City Siam is always a worthwhile experience on its own.

It’s like taking a peek into the historic glance of the Land of Smiles– truly deserving of the title “Amazing Thailand” indeed.
Whenever I visit this place, I’m always armed and ready with my ever reliable camera. Charged with enough memory and always on hand, I simply can’t get enough clicking each time we pass by one attraction to the next. Too beautiful to be true, landscapes enthrall us with each turn. I have to get ready every time there’s a picturesque image worth taking a snap; in this case, each angle we turn to is always a breathtaking scene which deserves a postcard-perfect moment.
With a vast number of marvelous monuments you can feast your eyes on, it’s hard to pick favorites. For one, if you crave some spiritual serenity, the Garden of the Gods showcases a vibrant display of the Hindu deities Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma in all their bronzed glory.
If you want a to catch a scenic bird’s eye view of an awesome man-made mountain, then the Prasat Phra Wiran is a must-see you shouldn’t miss! Here, you get to feel what it’s like to be at the formidable Preah Vihear Temple even without being actually going to the Thai-Cambodian border.

Preah Vihear Temple replica
Also widely known as the biggest open-air museum of the country, its majestic vistas make this unforgettable one-day trip all in one location truly worth it.
The best way to get there is by taking the BTS Skytrain and drop off On Nut Station and then you can proceed by taxi. Tell the driver “Muang Boran Samut Prakarn” and you’re on your way to this fine exquisite mix of Thailand’s delicate history, art and architecture beautifully wrapped in surprising masterpieces.
