Filipino Graduate Earl Ng Tops Hong Kong University

A Filipino student graduated valedictorian at Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) this year. Earl Christianson Ng became the very first Filipino to graduate at top of his class in a Hong Kong university.

Originally from Cebu, the 21-year old Ng finished his double major degree, Bachelor of Arts Major in Chinese Studies and Bachelor of Arts Major in Business Administration, with the highest ranking. CUHK published on its website on June 23 declaring Ng as “Valedictorian of Chung Chi College”.

Ng arrived in Hong Kong in 2011 confident of getting a quality education that will propel him to entrepreneurial success in the near future. Earl is also setting his sights on starting and running his business in the future.

Ng also excelled in academics and got involved in many school extra-curricular activities. Aside from being a consistent dean’s lister, he became the president of Chung Chi College Toastmasters Club and project member of Enactus-CUHK. He also wrote for World Start-up Report. Currently, he is the Regional President of Kairos Society – Hong Kong.

In a statement released by Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong SAR through its Facebook page, it congratulated Earl for becoming a great inspiration to thousand of Filipinos in Hong kong. “More than giving his fellow Filipinos something to be proud of, the honor he has gained truly exemplifies that real worth of every Filipino in Hong Kong – world-class, top-notch performer,” said in a statement.
