Filipino repatriates from Thailand on July 16 are now staying at five star hotels such as Marriott, Sheraton and Rembrandt.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs website, “a total of 167 Filipinos, including a medical repatriate, are on their way home from Thailand today, 16 July 2020, via a PH AirAsia flight chartered for the Filipino community by Thai-Filipino-owned Bangkok Vista Holiday Co. Ltd. in partnership with other Filipino community leaders”.
“This latest repatriation flight, whose permits and clearances were facilitated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, brings the total number of repatriates from Thailand to 1,133.”
The special chartered flight is under the repatriation category. Although Filipino returnees pay for their tickets, they all get full assistance from the government from Bangkok airport, upon arrival in Manila for their SWAB test, hotel accommodation, food and transportation back to their home provinces. OFWs aboard the latest chartered flight now stay at 5-star hotels such as Marriott, Sheraton and Rembrandt.
“Hindi pa ako nakaranas tumira sa kahit na 3-star hotel sa buong buhay ko. First time ito at sa panahon pa ng COVID. Maraming salamat sa mahal na Presidente Duterte sa pag-aalaga sa aming mga OFWs. Hinding hindi ko ito makakalimutan”, said one of the OFW repatriates.
All Filipinos returning via special chartered flights from Bangkok are getting full assistance from the Philippine government. Filipino tourists who are stranded are given the option of paying for their own or availing government funded facilities.

IMPORTANT: The fourth batch of Special Chartered Flight is tentatively scheduled on July 26 (Sunday) in the evening.
