Filipino athlete Jared Teves won the Khao Mai Kaew Trail Challenge, the first race of the inaugural Thailand Trail Series 2017 Championship at Khao Mai Keao Reservation Park, Pattaya, Chon Buri on January 22, 2017.
Teves who is a native of Davao emerged champion of the 30-39 group in the 50k trail challenge. Over 1,300 runners competing in all categories joined the Khao Mai Kaew (KMK) Trail Challenge.
Another Filipino runner Joeffrey Camara placed 3rd in the same group. Placing second is an Irish runner Stuart Rooney.
This is not the first time Teves and Camara won in an athletic competition in Thailand, last year they also won and ranked fifth and sixth places respectively at the Wacoal Motion ROAD 100. A fellow Filipino runner Jag Lanente bagged the first place.
