The Tourism Authority of Thailand announced that the 500 baht ticket to the Grand Palace will now include a Khon performance at the Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theater.
The 25-minute masked dance drama is performed daily at the following times: 10.30 hr, 13.00 hr, 14.30 hr, 16.00 hr, and 17.30 hr. The Bureau of the Royal Household also provides a shuttle bus that will take you on a one-way trip from the Biman Deves Gate at the Grand Palace to Sala Chalermkrung, leaving 30 minutes before the start of each performance. The bus leaves every 30 minutes.
The Khon performance is considered by UNESCO as one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The ticket which can be purchased onsite at the Grand Palace also includes entry to the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), and Wat Phra Kaeo Museum.
