Krungthep Bridge to be closed today for safety check

Following the deadly and destructive earthquake last March 28, the Department of Rural Roads (DRR) will be closing the Krungthep Bridge for quake safety checks.

In a The Nation report, the temporary closure of the Krungthep Bridge is to make way for the safety inspections and the testing of its opening-closing mechanism following the recent quake.

The test will be conducted today, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 10pm to 4am the next day.

Because of this, motorists are advised to use alternative routes like Rama 3 Bridge.
