LOOK: Pope Francis arrival in Bangkok

Pope Francis arrived in Bangkok on Wednesday, November 20 around 12:30 PM at the Military Air Terminal 2 in Don Muang Airport.

The Pope was welcomed by Privy Council President Gen. Surayud Chulanont, Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, Catholic Church leaders and members, and other high-ranking Thai officials.

Pope Francis’ second cousin, Sister Ana Rosa Sivori, who has been a missionary in Thailand since the 1960s was also present and the first one to welcome the Pope as he deplaned.
