National museums, historical parks open for free from Dec 28 to Jan 1

Members of the public will have a chance to visit national museums and historical parks free of charge over the holiday season, reported National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT).

This is part of the Thai government’s New Year’s gift for both Thai people and foreigners.

In addition, a chanting ceremony on New Year’s Eve is to take place at Buddhist temples nationwide. In Bangkok, people can visit 10 royal temples of King Rama I to King Rama X with free bus rides from December 28, 2019, to January 1, 2020, the report added.

Among the 11 historical parks nationwide, the highlights include the Si Satchanalai Historical Park in Sukhothai province, Phanom Rung Historical Park in Buriram province and an 11th-century Khmer temple, Sdok Kok Thom, in Sa Kaeo province.
