OFW dad asks help for COVID-19 positive son in Thailand

An OFW father is pleading help for his 15-year old son who tested positive to COVID-19.

John Isaac Yuri who is living with his family in Bangkok is the latest among five family members who tested positive to COVID-19. His mom, sister, uncle and cousin have since then recuperated. John Isaac remains in the hospital and could be discharged today.

The total bill he had incurred was 108,127 THB. However, the Filipino marketing manager at Piyavate Hospital managed to get a discount of 60,000 THB. Though some of the bill has already been paid using the money raised in an earlier fundraising campaign, they still need to pay 20,000 THB for the remaining balance.

He was initially taken to a government hospital but he was then referred to a private hospital for lack of insurance.

The parents find it difficult to pay 20k THB balance because their jobs have been affected by COVID-19. The Yuri family is appealing to the Filipino community to extend help to their son who is supposed to be discharged today.
