A Filipino musician succumbed to cardiac arrest on October 30 in Phuket. His remains are still in the morgue due to lack of money for his funeral and cremation.
Kabayan Vladimir Lagman Azusano, 42, worked as a musician in Kamala, Kathu, Phuket for eight years. His body was found lying on the floor of a vacant house opposite their rented abode where he was updating his phone. His partner said the internet was faster in that area.
Azusano’s body was taken by ambulance to Patong Hospital where the doctors tried to revive him for an hour. He was declared dead at 6:00PM on October 30. Due to lack of money, his remains have been in the morgue since then.
Both Azusano and his fiance, Berna Liza Navalta lost their jobs when the hotel they had been working at closed down because of COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, his mother who is in the Philippines is also living alone and has no steady income. OFW Vladimir and his family hailed from Arayat, Pampanga.
According to the Navalta, Azusano is registered at OWWA. She tried contacting an OWWA official but she has not received any response yet.
Azusano’s fiancee and the family in the Philippines have decided to cremate his remains. However, due to the present circumstances all of them have no means of doing. They are appealing to our kababayan who may be able to share some amount for the cremation of OFW Vladimir’s remains. Any form of help will be greatly appreciated by the family.
