OFWs, foreigners can leave Philippines during COVID-19 lockdown

UPDATE MARCH 18, 11:30 AM: Bureau of Immigration (BI) officials have announced the lifting of the 72-hour travel period for departing overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), balikbayan, and foreign nationals.

As a result of the meeting yesterday with the IATF on EID, the following IMPORTANT UPDATES on AVIATION PROTOCOLS are hereby announced:

– The 72-hour window for international flights has been lifted. All persons, regardless of nationality, except for Filipino tourists, may now fly out of the country at any time.

– Inbound international passengers are allowed entry, subject to strict immigration and quarantine protocols.

– For passengers from Italy and Iran, it was agreed that the medical certificates of good health required should be validated by their respective embassies.

– Sweeper flights for foreign nationals to bring them to airports will be allowed to continue operations.

– Only one (1) person is allowed to bring a passenger to the airport and he/she must depart immediately after dropping off said person. The driver should carry with him/her a copy of the airline ticket of the passenger as proof of conveyance.

Alinsunod sa pulong ng IATF on EID noong 17 Marso 2020, ipinababatid ang sumusunod na MAHALAGANG PABATID HINGGIL SA AVIATION PROTOCOLS (Important Updates on Aviation Protocols):

– Ang 72-oras na palugit para sa international flights ay ipinawawalang-bisa. Maaari nang umalis ng bansa anumang oras, ang sinuman, anuman ang kaniyang nationality, maliban sa mga turistang Filipino.

– Ang mga pasaherong mula sa ibang bansa ay pinahihintulutang makapasok, sa pasubaling mahigpit na tatalima sa immigration at quarantine protocols.

– Napagkasunduan na ang medical certificate ng mga pasaherong mulang Italy at Iran ay kailangang pinagtibay ng kanilang embahada at nagpapatunay na maayos ang kanilang kalusugan.

– Pahihintulutang magpatuloy ang operasyon ng sweeper flights na magdadala sa mga dayuhan sa paliparan o airport.

– Isang tao lámang ang maaaring maghatid sa pasahero sa paliparan o airport at kailangan nitong umalis kaagad pagkaraang maihatid ang pasahero. Kailangang dala ng drayber ang kopya ng tiket sa eroplano ng pasahero bilang proof of conveyance (katibayan ng paghahatid).
