Songkran week is a busy week to fly in and out of Thailand but it seems like April 11, Tuesday, was like no other day as more than 1,500 passengers flocked Suvarnabhumi Airport to claim their ‘free trip’ to Japan, an incentive of a company to its employees.
Representatives from Wealth Ever were a no-show at the airport after they offered a free trip to Japan from April 13-15, thus flooding the airport. Tourism Minister Kobkarn Wattanawarangkul had to hold a meeting with police authorities in order to accommodate the passengers.
More than 1,500 staff of the said company paid fees from 15,000-20,000 THB for the said trip to Japan. Airport authorities had to relocate these company passengers to another floor just to accommodate others at Thailand’s main airport.
According to a post by the Bangkok Post, WealthEver is not registered to the Consumer Protection Board, including sales of any supplements. Airport authorities are expecting more victims to claim their free trip to Japan. The victims checked all airlines but to no avail found any chartered fights that would bring them to Japan.
