After 42 years, the Philippines once again regained the prestigious Miss Universe crown on Sunday, December 20 (Monday, December 21 in Manila) at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach was crowned the 64th Miss Universe after competing with 79 candidates from different countries.
First runner-up was Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez – after a “horrible mistake” by host Steve Harvey. Second runner-up was Miss USA, Olivia Jordan.
The show was hosted by Emmy Award-winning TV personality and comedian Steve Harvey and actress Roselyn Sanchez.
It was judged by Emmitt Smith, Niecy Nash, Olivia Culpo, and Perez Hilton.
