PinoyThaiyo salutes OFW’s determination to reach her dream at 46

Who says that finishing a Bachelor’s degree needs to be at a certain age? Married at 18, becoming a housewife and currently in Thailand to be a provider was not a hindrance to our fellow OFW Edith. Her situation didn’t hinder her from realizing her dream. Her blog site is a reflection of what women empowerment means, and what and how it takes to be a single mother in a place far from her kids. Just recently, she posted a blog entry entitled “A Dream Come True at 46”. Here, she narrates her experience of finishing her Bachelor’s Degree through the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).

According to the blog entry, the ETEEAP has been producing more than 7,000 graduates through accredited colleges and universities in the Philippines. This was an Executive Order signed by then President Fidel V. Ramos aiming to meet the demand of out of school students who are determined to finish and achieve their dreams of getting a college degree. Edith was enrolled in University of Baguio through a Bangkok-based education consulting agency who assisted her in the application and processing of her documents to materialize her dreams. Not to spoil the whole story, please check and visit her blog site and read more of her experiences and struggles.

We, at PinoyThaiyo.com, salute and take pride on every Filipino’s dream to better their lives through hard work, dedication and commitment. May this serve as an inspiration that once fully focused, anything is just possible.
