PinoyThaiyo will cover the 117th Declaration of Philippine Independence on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Philippine Embassy Compound, Bangkok.
Independence Day is celebrated every 12th of June in the Philippines. But this year, it will be celebrated a week earlier in Thailand.
The team’s request to cover the event as part of the media group was approved by Ms. Sylvia Reyes, the Philippines Cultural Attache in Thailand. This message was relayed to PinoyThaiyo by Ms. Angie Dela Rosa, President of the United Filipinos in Thailand (UFT).
PinoyThaiyo is the only Filipino online magazine in Thailand. It is composed of Filipino bloggers and teachers who are living and working in the Kingdom. It also aims to raise awareness of various issues, trends, practices and other events that are of significant importance to the Filipino community in Thailand first and foremost, as well as Filipinos in other parts of the world.
Meanwhile, the June 7th event which is themed “Barrio Fiesta” will be hosted by the Filipino Community Organizing Committee (FCOC). It will showcase the more than a century-old Filipino culture through different games and performances to be opened to public from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.
For more details of the program and those who want to rent tables either for selling good or displaying ads may contact Ms. Cora B. Cheep (081-988-7814) and Ms. Angie Dela Rosa (089-699-4648).
