The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has announced that only those who have an appointment online will be allowed to process exit clearance or secure an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) at the POEA Main Office in Ortigas.
Getting an OEC online can be done anywhere anytime through the BM online or the Balik-Manggagawa system.
According to bmonline.ph website:
“BM Online is available only for workers on vacation, rehired, or returning to the same employer, and with existing record in the POEA database.
“If you’re a Balik-manggagawa or returning worker but do not meet the above criteria, you will be redirected to the BM Appointment Page for regular processing of OECs on your chosen date, time and processing site.”
In a Facebook post on October 9, the POEA urged overseas Filipino workers (OFW) to use BM ONLINE system as this new policy will also be implemented in regional offices, SM Manila, Duty Free Philippines Paranaque, Trinoma QC, and PAG-IBIG Makati.
The agency has also set up BM Online kiosks at POEA lobby which can be used for free.
