PRC Names 30,007 New Teachers

The Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) on Saturday released the names of 30,007 teachers who passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) held in March this year.

12,103 (or 27.42 percent) out of 44,144 passed the LET for the elementary education while 17,904 (or 31.63 percent) out of 56,596 successfully passed the LET for secondary education.

Herminigilda Cabrera Notario (91.4%) and Vincent Atienza Isidro (90.4%) got the top spots for Secondary and Elementary levels respectively.

PRC also recognized the top performing schools with 20 or more examinees and with at least 80 percent passing rate. For the elementary level, the top performing schools are as follows:

  1. De La Salle University – Manila with 100 percent passing rate (32 of 32 passed)
  2. University of the Philippines – Diliman with 100 percent passing rate (24 of 24 passed)
  3. Saint Louis University with 97.30 percent passing rate (36 of 37 passed)
  4. Central Philippine University with 86.21 percent passing rate (25 of 29 passed)
  5. Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela with 81.25 percent passing rate (26 of 32 passed)
  6. Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Unisan with 80.95 percent passing rate (17 of 21 passed)

For the secondary level with 50 or more examinees and with at least 80 percent passing rate, the top performing schools are as follows:

  1. University of the Philippines – Diliman with 95.24 percent passing rate (60 of 63 passed)
  2. Saint Louis University with 90.32 percent passing rate (140 of 155 passed)
  3. University of Santo Tomas with 89.06 percent passing rate (57 of 64 passed)
  4. Xavier University with 86.52 percent passing rate (77 of 89 passed)
  5. Philippine Normal University – Manila with 81.25 percent passing rate (156 of 192 passed)

The Board for Professional Teachers is composed of Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, Chairman; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Vice Chairman; Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy, Members.

Meanwhile, PRC announced that the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will start on June 1, 2015 with the following requirements:

  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
    latest Community Tax Certificate (Cedula)
  • One piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag)
  • Metered documentary stamp for the Oath Form
    initial registration fee of P600
  • Annual registration fee of P450 for 2015-2018.

The commission also reminded that successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. The dates and venues for the oath-taking ceremonies will be announced later.
