What supposedly a big night for Dreamscape Networks, Inc. turned out to be a nightmare after the roof and ceiling of a cinema at Ayala Center Cebu collapsed injuring six people.
“At around 8:50 in the evening of June 15, part of the acoustic board drop ceiling fell during an exclusive screening at the cinema 5. We have evacuated the area and have accounted for six injured people who have been given medical attention,” Ayala Center Cebu said in a brief statement released in social media late Monday.
The online company was launching a new advertising campaign for Crazy Domains, the global internet domain name registrar. Dreamscape Networks just recently opened an office in Cebu City.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Dreamscape’s Theo Jave said,
“‘(T)was supposedly a big night for our company as we launch our new brand ad campaign… But this thing happened… So sad Ayala took sometime to respond (to) the emergency,”
He also shared the video he took minutes before and after the incident happened.
“We regret what happened and we are currently investigating the cause of the incident. We assure the public that safety continues to be a priority in the mall,” Ayala Center Cebu concluded in its statement.
