The Thailand-Philippines Business Council (TPBC) donated 200 packs (1,000 kgs) of rice to the food drive “Bayanihan Sa Thailand”.
Mr. Sanan Angubolkul (Vice Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry, and Banking), Mr. Visit Limprana (Chairman of TPBC), and Mr. Kraisin Vongsurakrai (Executive Director, Thai Chamber of Commerce) turned over the donation on April 21, Tuesday to the Secretariat members of the Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship (ALSE) Program in Thailand at the Philippine Embassy grounds.
Mr. Angubolkul is Chairman of Srithai Superware and is also part of the Erawan Group that established the Hop Inn Hotels in the Philippines. Mr. Visit Limprana is Chairman and CEO of Nguansoon Group that produces the well known the Hand Brand No. 1 spices and operates the Spice Story shops in Siam Paragon and Icon Siam.
The ALSE Secretariat was represented by Ms. Sonia Soosot Nisa Zerrudo and Ms. Cherryl Lara Labadlabad.
The turnover was witnessed by Embassy officials Mr. Michael Lyndon B. Garcia, First Secretary and Consul, and Mr. Enrico Mariano, DTI Commercial Attaché.
Aside from rice, TPBC also donated 500 pieces of fabric masks. The donations will be distributed to Filipinos in distress in Bangkok and other provinces. So far, ALSE has already distributed more than 500 food packs (300baht / pack).
