Bangkok farmer keeps his farm, refuses $1M dollar offer

Sompot Tubcharoen was offered 33 million baht or roughly $1 million US dollars by property developers to sell his farm in Bangkok.

A few years ago, Sompot Tubcharoen resigned from his job as a university researcher to become a full time farmer. Now, he tends over three riceberry paddies and hundreds of melon tree on an 8-hectare land.
