Thai gov’t donates 10,000 COVID-19 test kits to the Philippines

His Excellency Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng, Ambassador of the Kingdom Thailand to the Philippines, presented 10,000 COVID-19 RT-PCR test kits from the Royal Thai Government to the Government of the Republic of the Philippines on December 16 in Manila.

The test kits were received by Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at a ceremonial turnover held at DFA, and will be forwarded to the Department of Health (DOH).

“The donation of COVID-19 RT-PCR test kits is the initiative of H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, proposed at the Special ASEAN Summit on COVID-19 in April 2020 by pledging to contribute 10,000 test kits to each ASEAN Member States with the objective to promote cooperation within ASEAN to address the COVID-19 pandemic. The test kits were developed by Siam Bioscience Co. Ltd., Thai biopharmaceutical company,” said in a Facebook post.
