Thailand confirms 28 new COVID-19 cases; 96 more patients recover

Thailand’s government said on Friday that it had discovered 28 new coronavirus infections bringing the total number of infected to 2,700.

Only 964 patients remain in hospital, the first time in weeks that the number has fallen below 1,000 patients, according to the government.

There was 1 new fatality bringing the death toll to 47.

96 more patients have recovered from the virus bringing the total number of discharged patients to 1,689.

“The low numbers can be attributed to the efforts of us all,” said government spokesman Thaweesin Visanuyothin. “It is something to be encouraged by and be happy about.”
