Thailand’s government said on Monday that it had discovered 9 new coronavirus infections bringing the total number of infected to 2,931 cases.
There was 1 new fatality with the death toll now at 52.
15 more patients have recovered from the virus bringing the total number of discharged patients to 2,609.
“We are increasing our testing capacity all the time to meet the criticism that we have not tested enough,” said government spokesman Dr Thaweesin. “We are testing migrant populations, densely populated areas, and more.”
The government said that it has tested 178,083 cases as of April 24, an increase of 35,494 cases from the last reporting date on April 20.
