The National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT) said that out of 25 cases of coronavirus, 8 were fully recovered from the infection, and discharged from hospitals. The 17 others who were also infected are not in critical condition.
Here’s the complete post on NNT Facebook.
Should Thailand be worried? None has died from coronavirus in Thailand, but the number of coronavirus cases is now 25.
To be positive :
• The state health agencies are confident in their medical services. Out of 25 cases, 8 were fully recovered from the infection, and discharged from hospitals.
• The screening procedures have been strict at airports around Thailand, closely monitoring travellers from all routes, especially from China and other coronavirus-affected countries.
• Those who have travelled from sensitive areas and those who have been in close contact with tourists have learned how to take care of themselves, visiting hospitals and calling the emergency hotline immediately when suspicious symptoms show, and also acknowledging the 14-day rule of infection risks.
To be cautious :
• Many countries have temporarily banned travelling from China (air, land, sea). Some countries have suspended issuing a visa for Chinese tourists. Thailand is not among those countries.
• Researchers at the University of Southampton, UK, concluded that Bangkok is one of the most at-risk cities with the high number of travellers expected to arrive from affected cities in China.
To be doubted :
The 2019 Global Health Security Index (ghsindex.org) gave Thailand No.6, among 195 countries, for the ability to prepare for a pandemic and the high standards of infectious disease prevention and control.
Will Thailand be able keep it cool until a vaccine for the Wuhan coronavirus is successfully produced?
