Southeast Asia’s biggest IKEA store will not be in Johor Bahru, Malaysia anymore. The newest addition to the Swedish mega furniture store will be opening on March 15 in Nonthaburi Bang Yai district, and is believed to be the largest in the Pacific sub-region.
This announcement comes after the construction of the newest installment last year. The 50,278 sqm store will be the first in the world to include checkout stall on all 3 of its floors. Also to accommodate the large crowds, it will include 29 checkout stands – 3 more than IKEA Bangna, which occupies 44,000 sqm.
In terms of parking, the said branch can accommodate of up to 1,900 cars. The newest IKEA store is located next to Central Westgate and can easily be accessed through bridge linking the 2 malls found at the 3rd floor.
