TRAVEL UPDATE: All passengers bound to Philippines must take RT-PCR test within 72hrs prior departure

UPDATE: DOTr has been given a new directive to exempt minors BELOW TWO YEARS OF AGE to present a negative RT-PCR test to board a flight unless the minor below two year old is asymptomatic.

REVISED PH ARRIVAL PROTOCOLS EFFECTIVE DEC 3

The Philippines’ Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has revised arrival guidelines as part of efforts to prevent the spread of new COVID-19 variants.

The new requirements for testing and quarantine of travelers from YELLOW and GREEN list countries take effect today December 3, 2021:

1). For fully vaccinated eligible travelers:

– Negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours prior departure

– Facility based quarantine until release of negative results

– SWABBING ON THE 5TH DAY (RT-PCR test)

– Self-monitoring until 14th day from arrival

2).For eligible travelers who are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or whose vaccination status cannot be independently validated:

– Negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours prior departure

– Facility based quarantine until release of negative results

– SWABBING ON THE 7TH DAY (RT-PCR test)

– Home quarantine until the 14th day from arrival

IMPORTANT: Only passengers who comply with the negative RT-PCR test-before-travel requirement shall be allowed to board flights to the Philippines.

Minors traveling with their parents shall follow the testing and quarantine protocol of the parent/guardian with them, regardless of their vaccination status and country of origin.

International passengers who have already arrived and are currently undergoing quarantine shall continue with the testing and quarantine protocols in place at the time of their arrival In the Philippines.

GUIDELINES ON TRAVEL TO THE PHILIPPINES FROM RED-LIST COUNTRIES REMAIN THE SAME:

– Inbound international travel shall not be allowed, regardless of vaccination status, for all persons (except as specified below) coming from Red List countries/regions, or who have been to Red List countries/regions within the last 14 days prior to arrival to any port of the Philippines.

EXCEPTION FOR FILIPINOS: – Only Filipinos returning to the Philippines via government-initiated or non-government-initiated repatriation and Bayanihan Flights may be allowed entry subject to the prevailing entry, testing, and quarantine protocols for Red List countries — facility-based quarantine for 14 days with testing on the 7th day, with day 1 being the date of arrival, notwithstanding a negative RT-PCR result.

Red List includes: South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy.

ENTRY OF FOREIGN TOURISTS REMAIN SUSPENDED

The IATF has suspended the entry of fully vaccinated foreign tourists of non-visa required countries/regions from the Green List. Philippine Airlines operates flights to the following Green list countries/regions: Indonesia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

PASSENGER OPTIONS

Should you wish to postpone travel, you may avail of any of the following options:

– Rebook to another flight with available space within 60 days after the original flight in the same booking class or higher within the same cabin class provided that the selected date is within the period of validity of the ticket no additional charge;

– Convert your ticket to a travel voucher equivalent to the unused net value and unused taxes of your ticket; or

– Refund the cost of your ticket, with refund service fees waived
