Two Filipino triathlete players bagged the top awards on Saturday paving a way for the country’s first gold medal in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.
Claire Adorna, 21, clocked in two hours, 13 minutes and eight seconds to win gold. Second to her was another Filipino triathlete Kim Mangrobang who bagged silver with the time of two hours, 14 minutes and 26 seconds.
Winning bronze was Sarunthai Arunsiri of Thailand with a finishing time of 2 hours, 22 minutes and 8 seconds.
The Women’s Triathlon competition included of a 1.5-kilometer swim in open water, a 40-kilometer bike ride and a 10-kilometer run.
The Philippines now has a total of 8 golds, 12 silvers and 25 bronzes in the medal tally.
