Due to escalating tensions between Thailand and Cambodia, some travel agencies offering visa run services are temporarily shutting down services.
According to a Facebook post by Meesuk Travel, they have temporarily postponed their visa run services due to the current situation. The travel agency is closely monitoring the situation and will keep its patrons updated on any changes as soon as possible.
Cambodia-Thailand relations have been in high tensions in the past few weeks due to a military encounter along a relatively “no man’s land” at the border where a couple of military personnel exchanged fires, causing injury and death. Workers and students have been closed off from the Thai side where some Cambodians are studying and employed.
Cambodia has retaliated by blocking Thai produce entering. Both countries have “sanctioned” the opposing side by blocking goods and nationals from crossing the borders. However, Thailand is only opening its borders for “students and essential personnels”.
