Young Filipino musicians to join Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra (AYJO) ASEAN Tour 2015

Five young Filipino musicians will join the Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra (AYJO) ASEAN Tour 2015 with scheduled performances in five Asian countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.

The Philippine Embassy through Ms. Sylvia M. Reyes, Cultural Officer, attended the group’s performance held at the Aksra Theater King Power in Bangkok on October 4, 2015.

Five young Filipino musicians were selected by Japan Foundation Asia Center to participate in the Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra (AYJO) ASEAN Tour 2015 with scheduled performances in Jakarta and Yogyakarta in Indonesia, Singapore, Manila, Philippines, Bangkok, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Orchestra is composed of 28 young and talented musicians selected through auditions held in different schools in Southeast Asian countries held in February 2015. Other successful musicians selected came from Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.

AYJO is a jazz orchestra project of the Japan Foundation Asia Center designed to train emerging talented young musician through international exchanges and collaboration and to showcase their talents on international stage performances.

Ms. Sylvia M. Reyes, Cultural Officer of the Embassy, attended the performance of the orchestra presented by the Japan Foundation, Bangkok, held at the Aksra Theater King Power, Bangkok, on 04 October 2015.
