CIMB’s SpeedSend leaders offer continued help to Filipino groups

The CIMB Thai Bank’s SpeedSend Team met up with several Filipino group leaders in a dialogue to ensure that its money transfer program is able to help Filipinos in Thailand through affordable service fee and through sponsoring social and charity works.

Ten Filipino leaders from different groups like Association of Filipinos in Thailand (AFT), Adventist Youth Association (AYA), Yanhee Group by Dr. Ismael Naypa, Filipino Association in Rayong and the Filipino online magazine Pinoy Thaiyo attended the meet-and-greet session hosted by CIMB’s SpeedSend Team.

Mr. Naushad Hussain, Head of Global Retail Payments, led the discussion together with his Malaysian and Thai teams. He started by introducing SpeedSend and sharing a snippet of the money transfer humble beginnings. He also noted how the Philippines became the bank’s corridor when SpeedSend was first launched in 2012.

A score of Filipino overseas workers in Thailand now use SpeedSend in sending money to their families and loved ones in the Philippines.

The said meeting which was held on Friday across the CIMB Thai Bank head office also gathered ideas on how SpeedSend can better provide services for the Filipino community all over Thailand. The team also listened to the sentiments voiced by some Filipino leaders and offered immediate solutions. It was more like an open forum where everybody was given a chance to share even their own personal experiences in using SpeedSend.

Mr. Hussain also promised continued support to the Filipino community here in Thailand. He reiterated their willingness to provide sponsorship to Filipino activities such as sports tournament while noting how Filipinos go crazy in playing basketball.
