3.2 million doses of Johnson & Johnson’s (J&J) COVID-19 vaccine are expected to reach the Philippines soon as its shipping has started according to the White House.
“We are beginning to ship over 3.2 million doses of J&J to the Philippines today,” White House spokesman Kevin Munoz said on Twitter.

One advantage of J&J COVID vaccine in terms of delivery is that it does not need to be refrigerated, easing the transportation and distribution process.
Based on Reuters data, COVID-19 infections in the Philippines are decreasing. The reported average daily new infections are 5,011.
The Philippines has inoculated 6.2% of its population so far with at least 13,442,299 doses based on a two-dose regiment. The arrival of J&J shots will boost the country’s campaign against the coronavirus.
The Philippines has also registered 1,490,665 COVID infections and 26,314 coronavirus-related deaths since the start of the pandemic.
A survey conducted by Pulse Asia, which took place from June 7-16 with 2,400 respondents, shows that more Filipinos are now willing to be vaccinated as concerns over the safety of vaccines eased. From just 16% who are willing to be vaccinated in February, it jumped to 43% in June.
The United States continues to share doses of COVID-19 vaccines as soon as it is ready to as many nations as possible. Costa Rica, Moldova, Haiti among others are some countries that also received doses from the U.S.
