Globe Telecom said Thursday that they have blocked over 3,000 links and websites related to child pornography in 2024.
Shared in an ABS-CBN news report, the company released a statement that around 3,096 domains containing child sexual abuse and exploitation were block, way higher than their 3,047 domains blocked in 2023.
The statement further says that the company has invested over USD 2.7 million in advanced content filtering systems, which allowed it to detect and block such content.
According to data from the International Justice Mission (IJM) and the University of Nottingham Rights Lab, in 2022, nearly 1 in every 100 children in the Philippines “were trafficked to produce child sexual exploitation material for profit.
President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos Jr. has urged the government to fight sexual abuse of children in 2024. “It is an appalling statistic. We cannot allow this to continue,” basing on the data presented.
