In a clear violation of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act and the Emergency Decree, eight Covid patients partying with alcohol will be summoned for interrogation and be filed with legal actions once discharged from the hospital.
The possible penalties can be up to six months in prison and/or up to 10,000 baht in fine for the violation of the Alcohol Beverage Control Act, and up to two years in prison and/or a fine of 40,000 baht for violating the Emergency Decree.
The eight individuals were seen on CCTV partying on August 5 in a put-up field hospital in Buri Ram province.
Four members of the group confessed, two said that they were only chatting, one disputed the allegation, while the other one is reportedly in a critical condition in a hospital and out of reach at the moment.
