The Aranyaprathet – Poi Pet railway ceased to operate in 1965. 54 years later, it is set to reopen on April 22, 2019.
Earlier, Transportation Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith headed a team in an inspection of the the facilities in Ban Khlong Luek Border Crossing Temporary Railway Station in the Aranyaprathet district of Sa Kaeo ahead of its reopening.
The railway will serve as a link between Thailand and Cambodia railway networks. The said project will enhance trade and tourism between the two countries.
