While the majority of Filipinos in Thailand work as educators, this young handsome pinoy appears in front of a camera, smiles and models for a number of Thailand’s famous products.
Meet Hansel “Hans” Manikan, the first Thailand-based Filipino model PinoyThaiyo has interviewed. He modeled for Thai seaweed snack “Tao Kae Noi”, MBK Center, Western Union, beauty clinic Atom clinic and MICHELIN among many other projects.
He also appeared on reality television shows The Choice Thailand and Take Me Out, and Taco Bell Thailand’s commercial. Hans also ventured into acting in some Thai music videos such as Love Love Taste Salad, Take Me Out and Absolute Siam TV.
Hans, 27, is a native of Aklan Province. He is the second of five siblings, all of whom are living in the Philippines. He came to Thailand 11 years ago for a holiday and unexpectedly fell in love with the beauty of the Land of Smiles. So he decided to stay and work. He has been modeling since 2014.
After more than a decade of living in Bangkok, Hans has learned the language and speaks and writes Thai fluently. He currently works in the hospitality industry full-time and does freelance modeling.
